The Act of Revealing or Disclosing

Revelations. Whew, what a mouthfull already. Think about it for a second and its meaning. Now think about God revelating. The book of Revelations is, in an understatement, intense. The book is solely about God revealing His plan and Glory--Himself. The book is about the mystery of God made known. That means, even Christians cannot fathom God in all His Glory. This is why it is so hard for nonbelievers to accept the Bible as truth. God does not fully reveal Himself. There are no answers for some arguments. One has to have faith and trust in God and believe in God's grace. Only then will they have some slight understanding of who God is. The wind is used as a metaphor for the Holy Spirit; it undoubtably exists, but you can't prove it; all one can see is the effects of wind. Jesus no longer walks on earth in human flesh and you will not find His flesh anywhere, for He has been raised. God the father and creator sits on His throne in Heaven, He is everywhere, but you will not see Him. Once, the back of God was seen. But, that is just a glimpse. If someone were to actually be able to see God on this earth, they would not be able to live to tell about it. We wouldn't be able to handle the sight of God.

So why is Revelations so intense again? Because it discusses what is to come. It is yet another prophecy and promise fullfilled. The end of the world humans have inhabited. The destruction of life. Judgement fullfilled with righteousness from the Righteous One. The destiny of men determined. Either a lifetime in the presence of the Lord your Savior and Lord, or eternity in the absense of the presence of God: a life of turmoil. It's intense because of the reality of it. People will die. People will be judged. People will live eternally with or from God. People will reap what they had sewn on earth.

For Christians, brothers and sisters. Revelations is a book of awe. The power and glory of God revealed. Our hope being confirmed. The promise of rewards for serving our Lord. Living with the Father, Savior, and Spirit for eternity. To be able to see God for all He truly is. To experience His love and recognize it in all its beauty. Not only will we have a personal relationship with Him, we will finally see Him, literally, face to face.

That's intense.
