I'm having an overload of Chemistry...anyway. Thought I would elaborate a little bit on my infatuation with water (if you haven't noticed). Water. I just love saying the word. It has a lot of meaning to me. It quenches the thirst. It soothes the dryness. Water strengthens roots that they may run deep. Water cleanses the body. Water cleans off dirt. Water may rise to the sky and fall upon land that it may lay in ruin. Over the body of water, hurricanes may form. It may provide the soothing sound from a waterfall. The awe of beauty of a water fall, or tide washing in. The sound of rain hitting tin, or the feel of it hitting your skin. There is much power found in water. It is said that the words of the Lord are like rushing water. Think of the sound of a river rushing water. Isn't it peaceful. Now think of being in the rapids of rushing water, you are helpless; different story now? or think of the walls of the Red Sea crashing down upon you or a tsunami clashing down. Rushing water takes on a whole new meaning. It brings fear. As does the Lord's words. They are full of power, it brings fear, and yet can be soothing to hear. Jesus was Baptized in water as a sign of spiritual cleansing. Without water we cannot survive near as long as without food.
What I think of most and what gets me going most about water is grace and God's people starting as a stream.
God's grace and love pours down like rain. It can be a torrential downpour or a light drizzle to just cover the ground. It is a beautiful metaphor. It emphasizes grace coming from above and being poured by someone. And He who pours has control on how much comes down. Rain cannot be created by man either. It is a thing of nature that rain occurs. A demonstration of the power of God. Open the floodgates of Heaven that all may know the Power, the Glory, the Grace, the Love of our Lord for His name is Yahweh.
Exciting as well, is the fact that a body of believers my start a stream. They may collect the rain that God pours down. And as others join this body of believers and are obedient to God, the stream turns into a river. And the river will grow deeper and wider as even more join. And through this river people may find Jesus and drink and be satisfied. Others may be overtaken by the force of the river. One day the world will be flooded, but the water won't be literal this next time, it will be God Himself and the world will crumble underneath Him.
Let it rain that all may know
